If you are new to the world of 'mind body spirit' music then this CD really is an excellent place to start. Lucinda has a fabulously self-assured voice that warms, woos and uplifts, and the quality of the song arrangements and production really bring this enchanting and accessible music alive. Slinky muted trumpet solos and jazzy guitar make for a very classy sound, and the quality of Lucinda's voice reminds me of Julia Fordham and even Karen Carpenter at times - yet without the inherent sadness that 'regular' artists bring to their music through the endemic obsession with failed love affairs!
Bliss's songs are apparently inspired by the teachings and practice of Brahma Kumaris Raja Yoga, which perhaps adds to the positive uplifting effect, but what I find so heart-warming is that here is a New Age band who can match the production values of the 'real world' whilst imparting truly blissful positivity.
